For my birthday, Colby's dad flew us to Seattle to see my sister and her family. We had a great time. Brekke gave Colby a haircut, we went to see New Moon, we got to go to dinner with Colby's dad and step mom at Salty's (very yummy), and it was so fun to just be with them. Brekke was quite the hostess and made some seriously yummy food while we were there. She made homemade caramel popcorn, homemade rolls, banana bread, cookies, and the list goes on! She is such a great little mom and homemaker:0) I cannot wait until Christmas so we can see them again! Here are a few pictures from our trip:

One thing after another.....
I actually survived....the swine flu that is. After trying very hard to avoid it I caught the awful bug. Pretty typical since I had EIGHT kids in my class come down with it and also a husband. It wasn't pleasant but it is over so that is all that matters.
The latest though is that this baby actually cracked or sprained my rib and bruised my cartilage. Can you believe that? I woke up the other night, in the middle of the night, and felt some serious pain by my ribs. The next morning it hurt to breathe, stand, sit, walk, cough, sneeze, etc. I called the doctor and was told that the baby either cracked or sprained my rib by kicking me. Wow. Never heard of that happening and am hoping that it stops hurting soon because it is quite painful! I think we might start nicknaming him "Bruiser."

ANYTHING but THAT!!
Well, I am sad to say that Mr. Miller has the swine. Last Thursday he was showing all the symptoms and after much begging and pleading on my part, he finally went to the doctor and sure enough....he has the dreaded swine flu. He has been on the tamiflu and he is almost completely better. For the record, he didn't think it was as bad as the whole world is making it sound. Besides the fact that I would not let him go to work on Friday. I even called his dad to tell him he was not allowed to go to work because he was so adamant about going...silly boy. Also, our Halloween party got canceled on Friday that was supposed to be at our house and we got dis-invited to his parents house for Halloween (I don't blame them). As well as the fact that it has really played a number on our romantic life. I have not let him sleep in the same bed as me for the last few nights and I give him "knuckles" each night before we go to bed because I don't want any contact. Hmm, I really don't want to get this little sickness. Maybe it's not as big of a deal as everyone is making it sound!

Bad Bodie!
My stinker of a dog has done some very naughty things lately. You know how they always say that your dog knows they are not the "top dog" any more after a new baby comes. Well, what about before a new baby comes? I swear he knows that his life is about to change dramatically. Let me get to the whole reason for this post....someone gave me a PBK mobile that I was IN LOVE with and it was in the baby's room on the guest bed that we have in there. I came home from work the other day and lo and behold it is no longer on the bed but out in the yard; tattered and ripped to shreds. I was so angry that I was yelling at him and I will admit I was also in tears because I was so excited about that silly little mobile. Later, Colby said he was nervous that I was going to hit Bodie but obviously I didn't. Also, he has chewed a pair of baby shoes that I got used from someone AND when my sister was here, he ate Crue's holder that held his pacifier. Hmm, I told him he better watch it or I will sell him to a black family in Chicago (that is an inside family joke bytheway).

Baby Bedding
My mother-in-law is a wonderful seamstress, so naturally you would assume she would make our babies bedding. Well, that was the initial plan until I happened upon this little piece from the PBK and it was a must have. So, tada, here is what our nursery bedding is going to look like for our babies room. (My friend Laura Lee asked to see what it was going to look like...so here's to you).
